The Application Of Ammonium Sulphate

1. Ammonium sulphate, chemical formula (NH4)2SO4,with nitrogen 20%-21%,abbr.AS.

2. Ammonium sulphate is a kind of fast-acting nitrogen fertilizer, NH4+ is easy to be absorbed by soil after spraying.

3. As physiologically acidic fertilizer,long-term application of ammonium sulphate will increase the acidity of soil.

4. If use ammonium sulphate to calcareous soil continuously or single, less soluble calcium sulphate will formed and cause soil harden & ammonia volatiliazation. It is easy to cause nitrification and denitrifying nitrogen loss and root respiratory difficulty in paddy field.

5. Ammonium sulphate can be used as basal fertilizer,topdressing and seed fertilizer. In acidity soil, it should be used with lime or organic fertilizer.In neutral soil and alkaline soil, it should be used deeply in soil to avoid nitrogen loss, match up with organic fertilizer to avoid soil harden.
